After an unforgettably romantic proposal on a scuba trip to Fiji, there was no doubt that Margot and Nick’s wedding would be anything less than beautiful, sentimental and full of love. Congratulations Margot and Nick!
Margot and Nick had been planning a trip to Fiji to go scuba diving with sharks and as a Christmas present, Nick gave Margot a helicopter tour of the Fijian islands for their trip. The helicopter tour was on the third day of their holiday and about halfway through the flight, they flew over a sandbar in the middle of the ocean which had ‘Marry Me?’ written on it in coral. Margot was absolutely blown away and speechless.
The helicopter landed on the sandbar, Nick got down on one knee and proposed. The couple stayed on the sandbar to celebrate with champagne before continuing their helicopter tour.
As both Margot and Nick are Sydney-siders but had spent a lot of time together in the Hunter Valley, it felt only natural to have their wedding up in the Hunter Valley over the Easter long weekend. The couple chose Peppers Creek Chapel and Barrel Room for the wedding and rented the surrounding 3 houses on the stunning property which meant it wasn’t far to travel for the wedding or photos after the ceremony. “The Hunter Valley is so picturesque, and we fell in love with the relaxed country vibe and vineyard backdrop.”
Margot was really drawn to the sandstone that featured in both the Chapel and the reception area and so the styling was based around that. There was deep green moss along the tables with white and light pink flowers as both tablescapes and ceiling installations. Styling company, Peonies Boutique Weddings brought all the styling elements and florals together to create the stunning space.
KAREN WILLIS HOLMES was Margot’s first choice of bridal stores based on reviews from her friends and the variety of gowns available. Margot wore the ‘Rosaline/Marina’ combination from our BESPOKE collection from our Sydney boutique in Alexandria.
“I always pictured myself in a slim fitting, silk plain gown. As my bridesmaids and I were perusing the dresses, we came across this dress that had a big layered skirt and was A-line which was everything I thought I wouldn’t go for. Not taking this dress too seriously, I agreed to try in on but once I was in it and stepped out to my family and bridesmaids, everyone said that now I look like a bride. I loved all the little details on the dress like the intricate lace details on the bodice and jagged edges on the skirt.”
Margot wore a two-tier, cathedral length veil also from KAREN WILLIS HOLMES which was the perfect touch to complete her look.
