Kate & Tyson’s Secret Garden Perth Wedding

It was a weekend getaway to Melbourne that did it all…”Tyson surprised me with a weekend getaway at Crown Metropol, under the premise we were meeting up with his business partner and wife for dinner and drinks to celebrate Christmas/End of the year. He told me they had a room booked for the weekend and we were meeting them there for a drink before dinner. Unbeknownst to me, he led me to one of the loft suites where he then pulled the key out of his pocket and opened the door for me to find the entrance to the suite covered with rose petals, a bouquet of red roses on the table and a bottle of my favourite champagne on ice at the bar. Still thinking we were meeting our friends out for dinner, I was surprised again when one of the waiters from Rockpool knocked on the door and proceeded to serve us dinner and my favourite dessert (passionfruit pavlova).

Following dinner, we spent some time out on the balcony admiring the view of the city, when I turned around to find Tyson on one knee, ring in hand asking me to marry him! So eager to call my family and friends to tell them the fabulous news, he convinced me to just call my family and to wait to tell my girlfriends in person so I could show them the ring. I knew I’d be seeing them in a couple of days at a lunch catch up we had planned, so I agreed to wait.

The next evening Tyson took me to the champagne bar for a drink after dinner, as I entered the bar and turned the corner, I was taken by surprise to see my closest girlfriends all sitting a booth waiting to surprise me and celebrate! Tyson had arranged for them to be there, knowing how much it would mean to me to share this exciting news with them all!!

Kate and Tyson’s wedding was held at Lamont’s Bishops House, in the gardens to the front of the house. Kate stumbled across the venue when walking through the city one day. They loved that it felt like a garden hideaway in the middle of the city. Its natural beauty spoke for itself which they loved most.

It was important for Kate and Tyson to have their garden wedding modern, elegant and yet classic. Kate drew inspiration from Instagram, the amazing venue and Hello May Magazine, which is always a hub of great ideas.

Kate wore the ‘Cassie‘ gown from our LUXE collection. She is a Perth bride and found her gown at our Perth Boutique.
“I loved that my gown was so different. I loved the textural element of the sequins and the heaviness of the dress which just fell and fit me like a glove. The way the sequins reflected the light in the various patterns and the cut out back were 2 of the standout features for me. My mum and sister were also the only 2 people that had seen my gown before the day so it was really fun to surprise my dad and other bridesmaids with it the morning of.

I wore a pair of white diamond, pink diamond and pearl drop earrings Tyson had bought me. I also wore a diamond tennis bracelet Tyson bought for me as a surprise. My sister gave it to me once I changed into my gown, it absolutely blew me away and was so special to have my dad put it on me for the day. Kate’s shoes were Fendi.
