    Frequently Asked Questions - Selling a Pre-Loved Wedding Dress

    How do I sell my pre-loved wedding gown? 

    Click the ‘List Your Gown’ link. Click “I want to Sell.” Choose the item you want to sell and follow the prompts. Remember to provide complete and accurate information about the item’s condition and its details. We review all resell requests, and have the right to approve or deny listings. Please allow 48 hours for your resell request to be reviewed. Once approved, we encourage you to share your listing! The more you share, the higher your chance of selling.

    What can I sell?

    You can sell any item you’ve previously purchased or received from KAREN WILLIS HOLMES. You can also sell any KAREN WILLIS HOLMES gowns purchased or received from a third-party retailer. Once your resell request is approved, we will feature it on the Pre-loved collection page.

    How do I price my item?

    You are welcome to name your price, but we will recommend a price based on the item’s age and condition, which we recommend following. We will then add a fixed amount to the listing price to cover shipping charges.

    How is shipping handled?

    As soon as a customer purchases your item, you will be sent a prepaid and trackable shipping label. The item must be sent within 3 business days. You do not have to pay extra for shipping. Please carefully & neatly pack your item, and drop it off with the shipping label intact at your nearest post office.

    Alternatively, the buyer may request a local or remote try-on. We will only facilitate and pass on your contact details once the purchase has gone through.

    How much of the sold price do I retain?

    The seller retains 80% of the resell price, including the shipping fees.

    How & when do I get paid?

    When the buyer confirms the item arrived in the condition described on your listing, you will receive cash directly to your account.

    Do I need to take my own listing photos?

    You must provide accurate photos for your resale request to be approved. Resale requests without photos will not be approved. For best results, use your wedding photos that best show your outfit. If you are using photos other than your wedding photos, take your photos in bright, natural light and upload in 1:1 (square) format. The original KAREN WILLIS HOLMES product images will populate for every resale item, in addition to any seller- generated photos.

    Can I allow try ons?

    Yes! In fact it will increase your chances of selling your dress as most people will need to try on for size before purchasing. In the listing request form, make sure to select that you allow buyers to try on the product. Our partners at Rntr. will contact you if any try on requests have been made to make arrangements.
