Sustainability at KAREN WILLIS HOLMES
At KWH, we understand that weddings are more than just a celebration of love. They represent a unique opportunity to create unforgettable moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. However, we also believe that these moments should not come at the expense of the planet. That’s why we have developed a sustainability policy that aligns with our brand values and allows us to continue providing exceptional service while reducing our environmental footprint.
As a bridal business, we take pride in our responsibility to create gowns that embody elegance and beauty. Through mindful pattern making and design, we maximise the use of fabric and work on ways to up cycle our waste, ensuring that our gowns are not only beautiful but also sustainable.
We believe that ethical sourcing is critical to creating a sustainable future. That’s why we work closely with our suppliers to ensure that our products are made ethically and sustainably. Our production in Newtown, Australia, is within our head office space, and our workroom team regularly meets with our Indian factory to ensure fair labour practices and ensure everyone in our supply chain is treated with respect and dignity.
As a brand, in 2023 we will be launching serval projects that we have had long in the making, with a re-sale platform being introduced to our business as the first to launched early 2023. We support local initiatives, schools and organisations that promote sustainability and education, and educate where possible through internship programs and employment where available.
At KWH, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact continuously. Sustainability is a journey, and we recognise that there is always room for improvement. We are proud to be part of the solution, and we hope that our commitment to sustainability inspires others to join us on this journey towards a more conscious and romantic future. Together, we can make a positive impact on humanity and the planet.
